The granddaughter of Jim McConnell, who fought for Australia during World War One at Gallipoli, Villers-Bretonneux and the Somme Canal, Dorothy Gilding is now a retired Primary school Teacher. She has had a varied career, teaching across Victoria and the ACT; including Secondary classes and individual tutoring to students with special needs. She currently tutors older adults in Creative Writing.

“Teaching is lifesharing! If I’ve learnt it and I love it, I share it!”
