The organisers of “Write around the Murray Festival” in Albury invite you to the Award-winning author Barry H. Young launch of his new American Western novel The Undefeated and T. L. Oakman launch of her new book of health scare "The Pandemic Plan" at the Albury Library Museum of the vibrant regional city of Albury on the Murray River this week.

Both books have been critically acclaimed as one of the best novels of their genre. The Undefeated is a vividly portrayed western adventure that provides the reader with a long list of flamboyant characters and dramatic landscapes in which to become immersed in. And The Pandemic Plan is the story of fear, survival, and courage.

About Barry H. Young

Since his youth Barry H Young has researched the early years of American western folklore. The taming of this wild and beautiful land, the stories of the Northern American Indian tribes, the Civil War, and the code of the west captured his imagination.

The award-winning author of short stories, Red Wind, The Snake Trail, and The Shadow of the Wolf, lives with his wife Bev and family in the beautiful Thurgoona valley in Rural New South Wales.

Barry H Young is a true storyteller who has forged a reputation as Australia’s most prominent author of American Western Frontier novels.

Barry H. Young will be introduced by Dr John McDonald.

About Dr John McDonald

Dr John McDonald, President of the Albury Hume Rotary Club and author of "The Mind and the Matter", will introduce Barry H. Young at the launch.

About T. L. Oakman

T. L. Oakman has been working as a health professional for over 23 years, including as Director of Public Health in regional NSW. T. L. Oakman is a graduate in Medical Laboratory Science and has a Masters of Health Administration and Information Systems.

T. L. Oakman lives with her husband and teenager son in country NSW. She has been published in science journals, appears in the media and regularly presents to broad range of people, ranging from public groups to health professionals.

T. L. Oakman will be introduced by Mr Tony Kolbe.

About Tony Kolbe

Tony Kolbe has worked in the field of public health for over 20 years and has experience in pandemic planning and response. He holds Masters degrees in Public Health and International Development. During the recent pandemic, he worked on influenza surveillance covering 22 Pacific Island countries under a project funded by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Barry H. Young and T. L. Oakman will be available for book signing - Light refreshments will be served.
